The Opportunity

The client is willing to train quality inspectors in the ways of the aerospace sector providing they know how to programme CMM’s (Aber link preferred but not essential) and can conduct first article inspections.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Dimensional and visual inspection of components at first off and at final inspection.
  • Product inspection and verification of certification at goods inwards.
  • Maintaining records associated with inspection activities.
  • Completing First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102.
  • Operating and programming of CMM’s.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role, will be coming from an aviation business, where they have carried out all sorts of different inspections, including dimensional and visual with the aid of measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Aberlink CMM systems.

Essential

  • Knowledge of concentricity
  • Proficient in FAIRs
  • Competent in using all types of standard measuring equipment (Micrometres, Vernier’s, Shadowgraph and hard gauging etc.)
  • Track record within the engineering sector

Desirable

  • Ideally the use of Aberlink CMM
  • Experience of prime aerospace requirements Airbus, BAe, Rolls Royce
