We currently have a vacancy a Finance Business Partner to lead on delivering high quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation. Please note that this role is subject to a Standard DBS Check.

You will take a full and proactive approach in managing and delivering timely financial and management accounting services, including all aspects of budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project and transformation programme support, forecasting, financial reporting and control. This will include long-term capital and resource planning for general fund, ring-fenced funds, partnership funds (e.g. A Combined Authority), closure of the annual accounts and companies wholly owned or which the Client has a material interest.

All applicants will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of technical accounting in a Local Authority.

What do I need to apply?

  • Full CCAB or Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management (or equivalent qualification).
  • Sharp financial acumen to build robust commercial and economic models, define appropriate pricing strategies and ensure budgets & forecasts, including revenue and capital projections, are sound and support proposed changes.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the financial markets, funding requirements and opportunities.
  • An in-depth understanding of technical accounting in a Local Authority, this is essential to the role so unless it is clearly demonstrated your application will not be sifted.
