Transport Planning Analyst

My client is a well-established consultancy with nearly 40 years of expertise in providing highways, transport, and traffic advice to housebuilders, landowners, retailers, and various industries across the UK. They are known for delivering intelligent, practical, and viable transport solutions that help developments succeed.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planning Analyst to join their team. This role is suitable for either a recent graduate with a Mathematics degree who is eager to learn industry-standard software or an experienced professional with a few years in the field.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Use and interpret results from transport modelling software, including:
    • Junctions (Arcady, Picady) - essential experience
    • Linsig - essential experience
    • Transyt, Vissim - desirable, but candidates should be willing to learn
  • Analyse transport data and provide recommendations to improve junction performance
  • Communicate findings clearly to colleagues and clients
  • Develop competency in Saturn modelling and prepare briefs for strategic traffic model runs


Requirements:

  • For graduates: A strong Mathematics background and a willingness to learn transport planning software
  • For experienced candidates: Proficiency in Arcady and Picady, with experience or willingness to learn Transyt and Vissim
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
