A major UK and international freight forwarder, transport and logistics organisation are looking for professional transport road freight clerk.

Role: Transport Clerk, 4pl Air, road & Sea, any transport or freight experience is fine

Location: Bristol

Basic Salary: £24k to £25k

Benefits: Pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance

Hours: It is a 7am to 3pm shift but includes Sundays. This works out as 2 Sundays per month on rotation with another colleague, if the Sunday is worked than the following Friday is off.

ROLE:
This role is a hands-on operational role working in a multi modal environment.
The role involves customer and supplier liaison, job execution and irregularity handling.
The successful candidate will be trained on all QMS systems and GDP compliance.
Key Tasks
Receive bookings from customers
Review booking for data accuracy and correct documentation
Validate shipment routing against SOP and GDP guidelines
Job allocation to appropriate logistics service provider
Document production and reconciliation
Monitor customs declarations
Arrange collection from suppliers and deliveries to customers
Liaise with external suppliers to monitor shipment progress
Duties / Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure timely and accurate updates of shipment milestones
Handle irregularities with escalation as appropriate
Proactive Customer Service
Comply with Company policies and procedures

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Any previous experience in a freight or transport and logistics role, air or sea or road or transport and logistics and willing to learn
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Document production
Good attention to detail
Effective communicator
Knowledge of Customs procedures
Ability to prioritise workload
Able to work in a team and individually
Freight Forwarding or 4PL / LLP experience would be advantageous but not essential
