We work on behalf of a special school based in West Bristol that are looking for a SEMH Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the team on a long-term/full-time basis preferably. The school are based on beautiful grounds and are very proud of the important support they provide their students.
The school will support a range of special needs but are primarily focused around SEMH. The work is incredibly rewarding as you have a chance to make a genuine difference in a young person life.
The role
The role of HLTA revolves heavily around leading pre-planned cover wherever there are teacher gaps across the school. Naturally, you would need to be adaptable and confident in moving around from class to class.
Due to the needs of the students you must feel confident working with challenging behaviour and posses strong classroom management. Experience wise, it is preferred that you would have worked with SEMH students before but the school are open to applications from mainstream candidates. No prior qualifications required, experience is what the school are looking for!
