They pride themselves on customer satisfaction and efficiency, and are looking for a dedicated Service Manager to lead and support their team of Engineers and Service Planners.

Job Purpose:

As a Service Manager, you will oversee and manage the delivery of service to their customers through a team that includes a service planner and engineers. Your role will ensure effective coordination, focusing on key areas of safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency. You will act as a point of escalation for both customers and your team, while also providing support and cover for the service planner when needed.   • Previous experience managing a team of field based Engineers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all necessary safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the service planner to manage and coordinate a team of field engineers, prioritizing productivity and efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for the field-based mobile engineering team.
  • Partner with the General Manager to evaluate current skillsets and develop training plans to enhance the knowledge base.
  • Address customer queries promptly and professionally through email and phone, securing appropriate commercial and engineering requirements.
  • Assist in planning service attendances, focusing on optimizing engineer utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee vehicle fleet resources, ensuring that equipment on engineer vehicles is well-maintained and suitable for contracted services.
  • Monitor and review job sheets and timesheets, addressing variances and identifying efficiency improvements with senior management.
  • Cultivate relationships with supply chain partners, maximizing company benefits from collections and deliveries.
  • Plan and coordinate larger projects to ensure timely and efficient execution of repairs and new installations.
  • Approve overtime requests and track records to identify trends and potential improvements, in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Manage engineer holidays and sick leave to ensure workforce coverage for planned work.
  • Analyze key operational data and contribute to the development of meaningful and impactful KPIs.
