Housing Advisors - Permanent

Fully office based for first 3 months - central Bristol

Monday - Friday - Full Time

Up to £37,938 per annum (dependant on experience)

Tate are working with a local authority in their search for Housing Advisors to join on a permanent basis.

Your role would be to prevent and relieve homelessness amongst citizens by assessing the level of need of individuals and families presenting as homeless or at risk of homelessness, to determine the appropriate pathway to support them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and assess applications from single individuals and families that present to the service as homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Coordinate and proactively manage a caseload of citizens in housing need and work with them to resolve their housing difficulties, including those that may have complex needs and referring to appropriate services where necessary
  • Deliver high standards of customer service, critical thinking and a problem-solving when working with vulnerable citizens, tenants, landlords and colleagues
  • Provide advice and information to tenants and landlords on statutory rights and tenancy law
  • Promote a range of housing initiatives/options to prevent and relieve homelessness

Skills/experience:

  • Housing experience
  • Knowledge of homelessness legislation
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • IT skills
  • Analytical / problem solving skills
