We are looking for caring, compassionate Senior Carer Unit Manager who has a minimum qualification of SVQ level 3. The following SVQ level 3 elements that are classed as optional units are required for this post:

  • Unit H5S104(SCDHSC0328) - contribute to the planning process with individuals
  • Unit DK2X04(SFHCHS3) - administer medication to individuals

Senior Care Unit Manager skills:

  • Flexibility and the need to be able to adapt
  • Willingness to partake in additional clinical skills training

  • Prioritizing needs of residents
  • Empathetic
  • Maintaining confidentiality with residents, stake holders and human resource
  • Care Home experience is essential at a Senior Care level, should have excellent communication skills and IT competency, can demonstrate compassion and commitment to promoting excellent quality care at all times, focusing on supporting and promoting our residents independence and well-being.

Your duties as a Senior Care Unit Manager will include:

  • Managing and supervising care staff, displaying effecting use of line management
  • Administration and management of medication.
  • Ordering of Medication
  • Supporting and completing care planning
  • Supporting with Rota planning and allocations
  • Communicating with residents’ representatives
  • Supporting residents with essential care needs including supporting meaningful activities
  • Facilitating and participating in care reviews, Multidisciplinary meetings visits
  • Supporting inductions, completing Appraisal and supervision with the care team
  • Recruitment participation
  • Supporting and complimenting the nurse in charge in the day to day running of the home, including pre-admission assessments.
