We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team at one of our esteemed clients within the UK Defence sector. They provide innovative software solutions in a consultative environment and are gearing up for exciting new projects in 2025.

As a leading provider of software solutions, the team works closely with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and other related organisations to deliver exceptional software solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping their software engineering projects.

This will be a hybrid role with an occasional trip to the office every few months, if you prefer to go in more often then you can do so, there is full flexibility.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop scalable and efficient software solutions using Java, AWS, and React to meet client requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather and analyse technical requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of their business challenges.
  • Convert software engineering and AGILE methodology objectives into actionable development tasks, working closely with the Engineering team.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and integration processes.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of new products, ensuring they align with customer needs and industry standards.

What you'll need:

  • Proficiency in Java and AWS. Any frontend experience with React is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle.
  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer, within a software consultancy is beneficial.
  • Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial scoping to project closure.
  • Working in agile environments using methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Confidence in discussing complex technical problems within a technical environment.
