Reed Education Cardiff & Bristol are currently seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants for day-to-day cover within a large specialist education centre based in Bristol.

The school is a large multi-site school supporting individuals with additional needs, including Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autism and Sensory Impairment. They currently operate on three different sites.

As the Teaching Assistant, you will be available up to five days per week for day to day support within this particular school, or additional schools who may require additional support. You will be available for last-minute calls (from 7am) and able to travel to the sites. Ideally, you will have prior experience working within a specialist school, or at least have experience with additional needs.

The salary for this position is currently set at £14 per hour. Your day will be 6.5 hours (08:30am to 3:30pm).

For this role, you will:

  • Have experience with additional learning needs – essential
  • Have a passion for working with young people
  • Be open and adaptable to a variety of situations that may occur
  • Have experience with Makaton (this is not essential but is desirable)
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS that is on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

This role is set to start as soon as possible.
