At Reed Education Bristol, we are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to fulfil a Full time role on a temporary basis, starting in January!
The school is described as warm and welcoming in the most recent Ofstead inspection and has maintained its GOOD rating. Staff have high expectations for their pupils setting meaningful activities designed to bring learning to life. Pupils are given the opportunity to partake in a range of activities during lunch and breaktimes including basketball, construction toys drawing and reading. The school, located in Bedminster is just a 10 minute walk from the train station, making it easily accessible as well as a lovely place to work!As a teaching assistant you will be part of a larger team to ensure pupils integrate well to their school life supporting them throughout their day whilst also ensuring that EHCP's are followed and maintained for any given changes. You will be the students safe space within the school ensuring that your pupil is happy safe and engaged
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide support to Key Stage 1 pupils, focusing on both academic and personal development.
- Implement tailored learning activities and strategies to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to ensure a cohesive approach to the pupil’s education and well-being.
- Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, adapting techniques as needed to maximise effectiveness.
- Assist with the development of social skills and inclusion in group activities.
- Manage any behavioural or emotional issues with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Ability to create and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to student support.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are preferred.
