SEN Teaching Assistant

An excellent Mainstream Primary School based in Bedminster, Bristol are looking for a SEN teaching assistant to join them ASAP. This is a challenging but rewarding SEN teaching assistant position, providing the opportunity to work with a group of SEN children with either or a combination of Autism, ADHD and social/emotional mental health issues.

  • £83-£95 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Bristol - BS3

About the role

  • Start ASAP
  • Providing assistance to children with complex needs and/or physical disabilities including ADHD, ASD, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges
  • Using effective behaviour management strategies to monitor and diffuse difficult situations.
  • Personal care for pupils

The right candidate

  • Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above
  • Experience working with SEN children - for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport
  • Empathetic with excellent communication skills
