We're seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Health and Safety Administrator to support our dynamic and growing team of engineers and technicians.

Role Overview:

As a Health and Safety Administrator at AIRTeC, you will be crucial in ensuring our Test Centre and Laboratories comply with health and safety regulations. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, performing safety inspections, and leading incident investigations. Your efforts will support the well-being of our team and contribute to our cutting-edge research and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Tailor health and safety policies to meet the specific needs of our Test Centre and Laboratories.
  • Training and Education: Conduct regular training sessions to educate staff on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential workplace hazards.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Safety Compliance: Stay up-to-date with health and safety legislation and ensure compliance in our aerospace sector operations.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate with emergency services.
  • Safety Communication: Act as the primary contact for all health and safety inquiries, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Digital Solutions: Develop digital solutions to streamline H&S processes, ensuring consistent application and follow-up.
  • COSHH Compliance: Audit and maintain compliance with COSHH and REACh legislation.
  • 11 Point Plan & Lifting Equipment: Audit and update relevant files, monitor third-party auditors, and perform independent checks.
  • Risk Assessments & Equipment Conformity: Manage the risk assessment register and support new equipment assessments.
  • Workplace Inspections: Organize, conduct, and follow up on workplace zone inspections.
  • Training Records: Maintain training records and identify gaps, ensuring compliance with safety training requirements.
  • PPE Enforcement: Support the enforcement of PPE and workwear policies within the facility.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (e.g., NEBOSH or higher).
  • Proven experience in health and safety administration, ideally within a laboratory or testing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, especially in an aerospace context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support a diverse team.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and investigations.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certification in First Aid/CPR.
  • Experience with emergency response planning.
