Our client, a prestigious family-owned business in the south-west, is currently seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their dynamic Finance team on a full-time or part-time, temporary basis.

As the Finance Assistant, you will be integral to the efficient operation of the company's finance function. You will be responsible for managing and processing financial records, whilst supporting and delivering comprehensive administrative support to the broader Finance team.

The responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by entering financial transactions into accounting software and ensuring data integrity.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
  • Oversee credit control and debt management processes to ensure timely payments and effective collection of outstanding balances.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Support various office administration tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient workflow.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the role, contributing to the overall responsibilities and objectives of the position.

The candidate:

  • Demonstrated experience in a financial or accounts support role
  • Effective team player with a proven track record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a capability to meet deadlines and proficiency in IT (Xero experience is advantageous)
