A well-established stockist and distributor of electrical components is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to join their team. This company supplies a wide range of products to industries such as aerospace, defence, medical, industrial, rail, and transportation worldwide. The Customer Service Assistant will play a key role in creating and maintaining customer sales orders on the system. As a Customer service Assistant, you will be responding to customer's enquiries and updating information and resolving queries.

Customer Service Assistant responsibilities:

  • Accurately load customer orders onto the system and verify correct entry.
  • Allocate stock according to order requirements, ensuring availability.
  • Monitor and manage orders with unallocated lines or those on hold, taking necessary actions.
  • Handle customer returns by creating credit notes and replacement orders as required.
  • Respond to customer enquiries regarding the progress of their orders.
  • Communicate effectively with the procurement and despatch teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
  • Take ownership of resolving customer issues, providing solutions promptly.
  • Record key performance indicator statistics and produce reports to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Review the progress of mass orders to ensure they are being utilised as expected, and ensure that sales coordinators consult with customers if there are discrepancies.

Skills & experience required:

  • Proficient IT skills
  • Understand the markets in which they operate and the position of various major competitors in those markets
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational abilities
  • Polite phone manner and well-spoken
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Create documents and spreadsheets
  • Outstanding customer service capabilities
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of an additional language besides English is advantageous.
