The school:
We are currently looking for a Teaching assistant to work across the board in an School based in Broadstairs. The right person will be working in our Autism school based in the day school and residential care home and will be supporting small classes of students at low ability who need academic as well as social development. There are 5-6 students in a class with one to one Teaching and Learning Support Assistants.
Our young people have struggled in mainstream education and need a positive experience. The majority of pupils are on EHCP and have been diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism. The support worker will become part of a team that specialises in delivering curriculum designed to meet individual needs and give our students the best possible educational outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Able to work with groups or 1:1 support within the classroom
- Supporting pupils with Complex Needs, Autism & Learning Difficulties
- Supervising pupils behaviour
- Encourage, engage and support pupils with their learning & development
The School: is a school based in the Kent area, the school is a school for autism and complex needs specialist school.
The school is a all through school for secondary school, the pupils are referred from all the boroughs in London and surround Areas. They have a residential accommodation for students onsite, they are based in a stately home surrounded by fields and Nature and they utilise the area to help with theory, behaviour Management and understanding of environments. The school has many staff who are also trained with team teach and personal care.
The school has gone from strength to strength to ensure the Accessibility for the students.
They look for candidates to work one to one and in small groups with the students, you must be enthusiastic and have the knowledge or want to learn and trained to work with SEND.
The school is based next to broad-stairs and also has car parking for staff on site.
You must have:
- Experience of working with children with SEN, Autism ADHD or SLD
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
