About the Role:We are seeking a Supervising Business Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support for the Children's Safeguarding & Care Planning and Court Service at Bromley Council. Reporting to the Senior Safeguarding Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth administrative operations within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support, including data entry, document preparation, and record-keeping.
  • Take accurate minutes in meetings and type them up efficiently.
  • Manage and prioritise workload effectively, meeting deadlines.
  • Handle a high volume of phone calls with professionalism.
  • Utilise Excel and other administrative tools to maintain records and support the team.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute (wpm) - Candidates must complete a free 1-minute typing test (Medium Text difficulty) at www.typingtest.com and submit a snapshot of their result.
  • Strong administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience taking minutes and accurately typing them up.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
  • Professional telephone manner with excellent communication skills.
  • Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience within a safeguarding or legal environment is desirable but not essential.
