JRRL are searching for a skilled Bookkeeper to join a small but growing consultancy firm in Bromley. In this role, you will manage bookkeeping transactions for a portfolio of clients, working independently while also handling client queries directly.

Location: REMOTE, in the Bromley office once a month and once a quarter

Salary: £33k pro rata for 32 hours

Hours: 32 per week, flexible 32 hours per week, with options to arrange a schedule that works best for you

Duties and responsibilities for the Bookkeeper:

  • Manage a portfolio of businesses, handling all aspects of accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns, and reconciliations
  • Record financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and payments
  • Maintain and update general and subsidiary ledgers
  • Monitor accounts payable, ensuring bills are paid promptly
  • Track accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for management
  • Liaise with clients to collect information, answer queries and provide accounting advice
  • Utilise Xero and other cloud accounting systems
  • Prepare documents in Word and Excel

Specification for the Bookkeeper:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Bookkeeper
  • Skills: Proficient in Xero or similar online accounting software, with strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Remote Work: Ability to work independently in a remote setup
  • Team Skills: Able to interact professionally at all levels of the organisation
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and organisational skills
  • Communication: Confident, professional communicator
  • Time Management: strong prioritisation skills and ability to work to deadlines
