Role SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Digital Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic Digital Solutions team, playing a critical role in the development, enhancement, and support of our customer-facing portal, internal systems, and core administration and analytics systems.

About the RoleIn this hands-on role, you'll oversee end-to-end solutions, from development to maintenance, for key applications across customer and internal platforms. You'll collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, manage incidents, and prioritize requests based on business impact. This role serves as the 2nd and 3rd line of support for critical applications, requiring an organized, customer-focused approach to ensure optimal system performance.

You'll be a key part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to our customer satisfaction and IT performance goals. This role blends responsibilities in system optimization, analytics, and database administration and will involve work on technical specifications, T-SQL development, SSIS package deployment, and release troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor and tune SQL Server database performance.
  • Conduct SQL Server database administration.
  • Design and develop views, stored procedures, and SSIS packages using Visual Studio.
  • Provide advice and guidance to ensure solutions are supportable and meet operational standards.
  • Manage 2nd-3rd line incidents for client-facing tech, APIs, and business applications.
  • Lead in resolving major incidents, participating in post-incident reviews, and implementing changes.
  • Collaborate with external software providers and internal teams to resolve incidents.
  • Resolve complex application incidents and requests.
  • Support the extension of our DevOps framework, improving development and release automation.
  • Engage in system design, code review, debugging, and testing.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years as a DBA or systems developer.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, data movement, SSIS, and analytics.
  • Experience in development and deployment.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles.
  • A strong commitment to quality service and continuous skill development.
  • Familiarity with API development and RESTful services is an asset.
