Job Description

Job Title: Learning Centre Lead

Location: Bromley

Salary: Competitive

Contract: Temporary, Full-time (37 hours per week)

Main Purpose of Job: As a Learning Centre Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational development of our client's Learning Resources Centre, enhancing student learning experiences and achievements. You'll support college management and teaching staff in delivering effective library services, promote the use of learning technologies, and manage the library management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Learning Centre policies to align with college objectives.
  • Efficiently manage staff, resources, and operations, including support for maths & English Additional Support.
  • Proactively address the information needs of students and staff.
  • Develop information retrieval and management skills to support lifelong learning.
  • Participate in course planning and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and optimise Learning Centre systems and services.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for the Learning Resource team.
  • Foster effective collaboration with other college teams and external organisations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate classification, cataloguing, stock management, and statistics maintenance.
  • Assist the Learning Inclusion Manager in operational management.
  • Ensure a conducive learning environment compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Enforce Learning Centre rules and manage student discipline.
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning processes.
  • Flexibility to work evenings as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification and/or evidence of CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
  • Experience in managing library services or similar educational environments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of learning technologies and information management systems.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, health, and safety policies.
