What were looking for:
- Significant experience as an Assistant Headteacher or in a similar senior leadership position.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A strong track record in pastoral leadership, with the ability to lead and enhance support systems for students.
- A deep commitment to the welfare, personal development, and safeguarding of students.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
- A collaborative approach to leadership and a proven ability to work closely with senior leaders, teachers, and parents.
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement in both student outcomes and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the pastoral care of students, ensuring that systems of support are in place to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to implement school policies and contribute to whole-school development.
- Take a strategic approach to student wellbeing, mental health, and behaviour, providing strong guidance to staff and students.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve student engagement, attendance, and achievement.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support students.
- Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to staff, particularly in relation to pastoral responsibilities.
