Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser

Reed HR have partnered with a fantastic company in Kent who are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser to provide competent health and safety advice and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. This role involves supporting and delivering special projects and campaigns to enhance health and safety within the organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide health and safety advice to assigned departments, ensuring active involvement in Health & Safety meetings and campaigns.
  • Assist in completing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) reviews, work task briefings, and the delivery of toolbox talks.
  • Deliver health and safety special projects as arising from committees, data analysis, or strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare processes and procedures to meet ISO45001 standards.
  • Support and deliver health and safety improvements across various topics and assist the team as needed.
  • Support the investigation of incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Maintain a rolling program of workplace inspections and audits to promote safe working practices.
  • Undertake workplace assessments as appropriate (e.g., noise, display screens).
  • Develop and deliver health and safety communications and campaigns.
  • Contribute to internal and external health and safety committee meetings.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Health & Safety inductions for new employees.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (NVQ Level 4) is essential.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience in risk assessments and audits.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office and other safety management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialist health and safety certifications (e.g., fire safety, construction).
  • Membership of IOSH.
  • Risk management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ISO45001.
