Service Care solutions are looking for a Designated Child Safeguarding Officer to work on behalf of a client on a permanent basis.

Location: Bromley
Salary: 44,070-52,327 + 2,000 Welcome Bonus & 2,000 Annual Retention Allowance

Job role/responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to shape this new role which is aimed at strengthening collaborative working between Education, Health and Social care.
The DSCO will strategically lead in embedding the social care elements of the SEND strategy across the local authority and ensure we are compliant with legislative requirements of the SEND Code of Practice 0-25 (2015), and that we are meeting our statutory responsibilities under the Children and Family Act (2014) and Care Act (2014).

The Designated Social Care Officer will support colleagues in children's social care to ensure they meet their statutory duties for children and young people with SEND aged 0-25, leading to improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
The post holder will represent Bromley Council at key regional and national events and will be a source of expert professional advice on SEND reforms relating to social care within Bromley and will seek to learn nationally from the evidence base of best practice.

We are looking for a social worker that:

  • Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of both social care legislation and the SEND reforms.
  • Is confident and competent to negotiate with and influence others, build and nurture effective partnerships, working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across the Local Authority, community, parent and voluntary organisations, promoting opportunities for co-production.
  • Can offer training, advice and guidance to staff throughout the organisation and to partner agencies as the social care lead.
  • Has experience of using quality assurance frameworks and systems to monitor and review the effectiveness of services.
  • Can identify areas of the EHCP processes which require practice improvement and be able to present solutions.
  • Can demonstrate excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills to a high standard, alongside being able to plan your workload in order to meet strict deadlines and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Has effective leadership and negotiation skills and experience of working collaboratively with Senior Managers to drive organisational developments and changes.

The client works to a relationship-based practice framework, and we are looking for a social worker who is passionate about working with children and their families. We are looking for an individual who will be able use their ability to form good relationships with families and professionals to bring about positive changes for children and young people who have SEND.
