About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead a dedicated team within Children's Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring high-quality social work practice, and leading a team of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to a team of social workers managing complex child protection, Children in Need (CIN), and Looked-After Children (LAC) cases.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, case planning, and interventions are completed to the highest standards.
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child in Need meetings, Child Protection Conferences, and Looked-After Children reviews.
  • Oversee care proceedings, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and court requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and other agencies to provide effective early intervention and safeguarding.
  • Support and develop staff through regular supervision, reflective practice, and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, and best practice development across the team.
  • Deputise for the Group Manager when required and assist in managing team resources effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:? Social Work England registration and a degree in Social Work (or equivalent).? Proven experience in children's social care, particularly in child protection, CIN, or LAC.? Strong leadership, supervision, and case management skills.? Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage a busy caseload.? Knowledge of legislation and best practices, including the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and care proceedings.? Experience in multi-agency collaboration and working within safeguarding frameworks.? Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
