My client is seeking an experienced candidate to be responsible for managing and leading the Housing Solutions Service. Providing strategic leadership to meet the statutory requirements of the new Homelessness Reduction Act and other housing legislation.

Duties Includes:

  • Leading the teams delivering the Housing Solutions Service. Promote understanding of and adherence to, the Council's values and behaviours by designing appropriate structures to deliver high quality, resident focused services. Obtain and maintain highest standards of ethical conduct in line with the expectations of a local government office and to lead staff to adhere to such standards in order to uphold the Council's reputation.
  • To provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary teams that deliver homelessness advice, prevention, relief and temporary accommodation; delivering high quality customer focused services.
  • Responsible for the transformation of front-line housing services to meet the new housing duties outlined in the Homelessness Reduction Act and other Housing legislation and statutory instruments.
  • To provide direction and management to Homelessness Teams, to plan, develop and deliver our statutory duties in line with Council Policy and priorities to reduce net expenditure on Temporary Accommodation through effective management of front-line demand, tailored personalised options and streamlined assessment process. This includes planning and preparing for transformational changes to service delivery.
  • Lead on responses to all issues relating to front line housing assessments, housing plans, technical/legal housing issues, integration and digitalisation of personalised front-line assessments, responses to statutory changes and to local political directives.
