GMP Recruitment are currently seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join a highly successful stell fabrication specialist at their Bromsgrove site.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday - Friday 07:00am - 16:00pm offering an hourly rate up to £12p/h.

Overtime is available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating on bandsaws, including set up, adjusting as required and working to specific material sizes, so previous similar experience is highly desirable.

Saw Operator main duties:

  • Operate saws in a safely and effect manner
  • Checking material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, cast number before cutting
  • Program saw for cutting operation
  • Manual lifting
  • Marking of material with cast numbers
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and steelyard
  • To support the company with business objectives
  • To comply with safety procedures and legislations

Saw Operator required skills and background:

  • Previous experience within a similar role preferable
  • Experience operating machinery
  • Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations using own initiative
  • Initiative and flexibility
  • Knowledge and application of safe working practices
  • Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures
  • Reliable and dedicated to working
