We are currently seeking an enthusiastic committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in professional to join us as a Teaching Assistant supporting students with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, conduct disorders, attachment difficulties, global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLDs).

The role:
Based in either the School or College, the setting is an independent SEN School and caters for 11-17 year olds who have special education needs relating mainly to Autism. The school offers an environment that is safe and low sensory alongside an ambitious curriculum which includes a suite of GCSEs and enrichment opportunities to ensure students achieve the very best outcomes possible and are fully prepared for their transition in to Further education, employment, training and adulthood.

Duties of the role:
  • Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities
  • Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management
  • Daily reports on learners progress and barriers to learning
  • Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis

Experience/Qualifications:
  • A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous
