This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader who values their staff.THE ROLE:The role of the Production Manager is to increase productivity across their busy 24/7 manufacturing/production operation, maintaining the highest standards of product quality, staff performance and cost control. The primary focus is the Planning and Forecasting of demand working in direct collaboration with the Planner and Procurement colleagues to ensure an efficient plan balanced against capacity, resources and time. This is to be achieved through a hands-on approach, close liaison with Customer Services and Account Managers. Using strong and effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies to promote an environment for team members to reach their full potential.Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.Oversee complete Production process from, raw material intake and Goods In functions, through Manufacturing to completed finished goods. Responsibility for the accurate and consistent production of products, through Production Supervision and Quality Supervisor. Manage the complete planning function to provide a balanced stock position meeting needs of our customers.Develop forecasts from demand data by range and customer to control our stock value and provide material requirements to support procurement in supply contract negotiation. Ensure all raw materials, packaging and labels are called off in a timely manner and input via the control systems to ensure visibility and accurate stock management.Highlight high demand, promotions and any potential 'out of stocks' to Procurement Manager to aid a continuous and effective supply chain. Take a leading role in delivery of an accurate month end stock take process across all raw materials and packaging.Lead all production projects and NPD trials/developments.Working collaboratively with site engineering to ensure all equipment is maintained in line with company standards to ensure the factory maximises its output potential.Drive a culture of continuous improvement - identifying process development to drive efficiencies, specifically focusing on material losses and waste developing initiatives to reduce. Interrogate daily KPI data and results understand issues, prioritise action and propose changes.Develop Supervisory capability establishing strong leadership structure across all shifts. Manage general housekeeping of production and stock areas through Supervisors and team.Ensure Directors, Operations Manager are kept informed of key developments, changes and issues.
