Production & Procurement Specialist On-site | Permanent

Butler Rose is delighted to have been exclusively appointed on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturing business in the Buckfastleigh area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a key role that ensures the efficient planning of operations, optimisation of stock levels, and continuity of supply to meet business objectives.

As part of a business experiencing growth and transformation, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, and supply chain optimisation. Due to the nature of this role, it is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Production Planning and create weekly production plans based on forecasts and stock level requirements.
  • Processing of all purchase orders related to production
  • Negotiating with suppliers for price reviews and credit terms
  • Assessing and recommending potential new and secondary suppliers, as well as tendering contracts, based on MRP
  • Ensure stock availability to meet customer demands on time and in full.
  • Liaise closely with the sales team to align forecasts with production capacity, including bespoke orders.
  • React to unforeseen production changes and proactively address potential shortfalls with management.
  • Assess new supplier opportunities and act as a key contact for supplier relationships.
  • Oversee the supply of essential raw materials, ensuring timely production and delivery.
  • Manage and resolve supply issues, keeping accurate records of supplier performance.
  • Maintain product and supplier specifications
  • Manage periodic and annual stock takes, ensuring accurate stock valuation.
  • Keep purchase orders updated in real-time and collaborate with the Technical Team to record specifications upon receipt of goods.
  • Assist in streamlining stock control processes to improve efficiency.
  • Make stock adjustments and transfers as required.
