Learning Support Assistant (Primary)
Location: Sheffield
Salary Scale: £95 to £105 per day
Start Date: September 2024
Contract Type: Full Time
GSL Education are currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to undertake a position at one of their client primary schools in Sheffield. A Learning Support Assistant plays a crucial role in the educational setting, particularly in supporting students who have additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with varying needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support classroom activities and help create a positive learning environment.
- Foster students' personal, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A relevant qualification or training in education or special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
