Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively support a growing SME near Burnley searching for an Accounts Assistant.This role reports directly to a fantastic Finance Director and covers a variety of finance tasks across multiple businesses.It’s an excellent chance to learn, develop, and make an impact, with guidance from the FD and study support if required.Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and ensure supplier invoice accuracy.
- Daily bank and credit card reconciliation.
- Sales invoicing, month-end balance sheet, and VAT returns assistance.
- Assistance with year-end accounts preparation.
- Assistance with month-end preparation.
- Running of credit control, ensuring KPI’s achieved.
- Supporting the FD with ad hoc projects, both financially and operationally.
- Data entry and general finance administration duties.
- Data analysis and reporting back to the FD with information.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in an SME finance function, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisation & communication skills are essential.
Salary and Benefits
- Circa £27,000-£28,000 DOE
- Discretionary annual bonus of £1000
