Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively support a growing SME in Burnley searching for an Accounts Assistant.This is a brilliant opportunity reporting directly to an excellent Finance Director who is eager to mentor the successful candidate. The position offers exposure to a diverse range of finance tasks across two businesses.It’s an excellent chance to learn, develop, progress, and make an impact, with guidance from the FD and study support if required.Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and ensure supplier invoice accuracy.
- Daily bank and credit card reconciliation.
- Sales invoicing
- Credit control, ensuring KPI’s achieved.
- Supporting the FD with ad hoc projects, both financially and operationally.
- Data entry and general finance administration duties.
- Data analysis and reporting back to the FD with information.
Once you feel comfortable and as you progress in to an Assistant/Management Accountant role, there will also be exposure to and training given with:-
- Month-end preparation
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Year-end accounts preparation.
- VAT returns
- The full finance management of the business
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in an SME finance function, with good Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisation & communication skills are essential.
