Based at their headquarters in Burnley, my client is a leading property business who offer a modern and tranquil work environment with state-of-the-art office suites overlooking the picturesque Ribble Valley. They are seeking a talented HR professional to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. For the right candidate, my client is also open to considering part time hours.

As a HR generalist, you will be part of a small and innovative team dedicated to ensuring smooth operation of the company’s human resource function. By maintaining effective communication channels and fostering a positive work environment, you will help to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity. Your role will also involve coordinating L&D and induction programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the HR department. In essence, you will be a key player in nurturing the company’s most valuable asset—its people—while driving the success and growth of Group First

Your role as HR generalist:

  • Assist with internal HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and wellbeing
  • Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management procedures
  • Assist with the administration of benefits, payroll data, and leave records (e.g., annual leave, sickness, maternity/paternity)
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment law matters

Required Skills :

  • Sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., Bright HR)
  • Previous exposure to employee engagement or diversity & inclusion initiatives
