Role Overview

  • Operating and maintaining F&K and Gerber cutting machines and undertaking any duties associated with the manufacturing of Company product.
  • The Technical Operator will assist production by backfilling on either machine during spikes in production or cover of absence, this may include working an afternoon shift pattern when required.
  • The Technical Operator is expected to contribute to keeping all areas of production hazard free, tidy and adhering to health a safety always.
  • The Technical Operator will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of all machinery and equipment on site.
  • This role includes performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all machines operate efficiently and safely. In addition to machinery maintenance, the Technical Operator will handle general handy work required across the facility, assisting with basic repairs and maintenance tasks to support a safe and operational work environment.
  • You will be responsible for identifying, implementing, and managing strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity across all operational disciplines.
  • You will be required to occasionally assist in other areas of the production, which may include Gluing, packing, loading / unloading goods and any assist in other production area’s if required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with the wider team to support continued quality of product, cost efficiencies and achieving KPIs.
  • Contribute to and improve the consistent delivery of high standards and process development within production and manufacturing operations.
  • Adhere to all Company standards of conduct at all times.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality with regards to Company operations, policies, and future plans
  • Deliver works in accordance with ISO procedures.
  • Any other task for which the postholder is qualified and experienced to undertake.
  • It is the postholders responsibility to ensure compliance with all safety procedures and safe working practices, including environmental awareness, wearing of appropriate PPE and uphold all safe working practices and required behaviours.
  • In addition, all colleagues are required to report any malpractice, breaches or potential risks and contribute to the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues and site visitors.
  • The performance and suitability for role of the postholder will be assessed through a probation period (specified in Statement of Particulars of Employment), annual appraisal and on a continual basis to ensure performance is as required and supports organisational goals and objectives.

Skills / Qualifications and Experience

  • Electrical / Mechanical Engineering qualification would be considered an advantage.
  • Background in the production of medical devices.
  • Desired experience with Material Cutting CNC machines Gerber or Assyst Bullmer.
  • Desired experience with Foam Conversion Equipment F&K and Band knife
  • Good verbal, communication and experience working in a team and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to work with speed and accuracy.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and energetic approach to work.
  • Tidy and organised, and keeping the workshop safe.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance.

Pay and Hours:

  • £35,000 DOE
  • 40 hours Per Week
