I am currently exclusively working with an impressive manufacturing company based in the Burnley area to recruit a Payroll Officer for a minimum 6 month contract.

Due to recent changes within business, they need additional support with managing the Payroll for the site in Burnley. The business has recently gone through a period of positive change & growth, adopting new systems & processes which the Payroll is a part of. The client would ideally like someone who has had experience implementing new Payroll systems, but this is not essential.

This impressive business are innovative, longstanding and offer a great team environment across all departments which makes it a great opportunity! For the right candidate there may even be a chance of a permanent appointment.

Duties include:

  • Process and manage all aspects of the monthly payroll cycle in a timely and accurate manner, including calculating deductions, handling new hires and terminations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Administer employee benefits, such as health insurance, company cars, and other benefits
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and reports
  • Analyse and resolve payroll and benefit-related queries, effectively communicating with colleagues across the business to ensure a high standard of employee experience

Skills required for success:

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in payroll processing and legislation
  • Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Experience implementing new payroll systems, either as part of team or project management
