Role Overview:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their team on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE) starting in January 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN provisions and a commitment to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development of SEN within the school, ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice.
  • Assess and identify students' needs, implementing appropriate interventions and support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote the wellbeing and progress of students with additional needs.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEN students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the success of all students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognized SENCO qualification (or willingness to pursue).
  • Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar role within a primary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
