Nursery Practitioner - Supporting Children with Additional NeedsLocated in Burnley

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team at a nursery in Burnley, providing support to children with additional needs in a nurturing nursery school environment. This is a part-time position, working five afternoons a week.

Hours:11:40 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday to Friday, starting after the February half-term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to children with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in nursery activities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the Nursery team, sharing insights and contributing to each child's progress.
  • Help implement tailored strategies and activities to support children's development and wellbeing.
  • Support children in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Observe, record, and share children's progress with senior staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, particularly those with additional needs.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A commitment to supporting each child's individual needs and development.
