About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 4 teacher to join our team for a one-year maternity cover contract starting after the Easter holidays. The class is a vibrant group of students with a range of varying needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher with a proven track record of successfully managing challenging classes, providing tailored support, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 4 curriculum.
  • Provide targeted support for students with varying learning needs and SEN, adapting resources and teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being and academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with SEN support staff and other colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, ensuring all students are challenged appropriately and their individual learning goals are met.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, ensuring they are kept informed of their child's progress.

About You:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and experience teaching Year 4 or in a primary school setting.
  • Strong experience working with challenging classes, including those with varying SEN and behavioural needs.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing classroom behaviour and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to differentiate teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • A passion for creating an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic classroom environment where all children can thrive.
