Job Advert: Year 4 Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Burnley
Are you an experienced KS2 teacher looking for a new challenge?
I am seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a partner school in Burnley for a maternity cover position. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a supportive team in a school that is passionate about delivering high-quality education to every student.
Key Details:
- Position: Year 4 Teacher (Maternity Cover)
- Location: Burnley, Lancashire
- Start Date: April 2025
- Contract: Full-time (until the return of the current postholder)
- Salary: Dependent on experience (MPS/UPS)
The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a teacher with proven experience in a KS2 setting, particularly with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for supporting students with a range of needs. The ideal candidate will be confident in adapting lessons to meet the needs of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and will have a proactive approach to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for Year 4 students
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Differentiate teaching to support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
- Work closely with support staff and SENCO to ensure appropriate interventions are in place
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning
- Build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 4
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to manage challenging behaviour
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
- A creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of children
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
