About the role

As Head of Quality, you will lead a progressive quality agenda across Busy Bees Education and Training, taking overall responsibility for the effective management of quality nationally.

You will develop and lead the implementation of quality management systems and processes to exceed internal and external stakeholder expectations, including Ofsted, DfE, and Awarding/EPA Organisations.

You will lead and deliver comprehensive professional development to ensure consistent high-quality formal reviews, teaching, learning, assessments and careers advice.

You will lead safeguarding and oversee support for learners with additional needs, understanding that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Lead cycle of Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Planning, analysing data and trends to identify strengths and address improvement areas in line with Education Inspection Framework (EIF) judgements.
  • Oversee reporting and monitoring of Qualification Achievement rates (QAR), driving interventions to continuously improve performance against regulator expectations.
  • Lead the Teaching & Learning strategy and activity within apprenticeships standards, including Functional Skills to ensure delivery teams are developed and stretched appropriately.
  • Regularly review action plans to ensure Intent, implementation and impact is recorded for the whole of delivery and report to SLT.
  • Manage key external relationships as Head of Centre, supporting and/or leading regulatory accreditation, inspections or external audits.
  • Support the development and cascade of best practice guidance and information to support the safe delivery of services/trials/studies.
  • Manage and develop the Quality Management System.
  • Review and approve policies and guidance to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Build effective working relationship with Operations and other SLT members.
  • Fulfil contractual requirements against a budget and allocated operational and quality targets
  • Responsible for identifying and driving initiatives to maximise learner progress and timely achievements including those with SEND
  • Design and successfully implement new curriculums and resources to ensure currency and pace with industry changes.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure robust Personal Development and Careers Education Information and Guidance (CEIAG) for learners.
  • Keep up to date with professional development, monitoring trends and implementing best practices externally from a wide range of sources such as Ofsted, DfE, AELP, ERSA and IEP.
  • Support and agree on training and development plans with the team when required.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Accomplished leader with proven track record leading national quality team in apprenticeships for an independent training provider
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead and SEND experience with knowledge of Prevent Duty and Safeguarding legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of EIF, AAF, Apprenticeship Funding Rules, AO’s and EPAOs
  • Strong prior experience on Ofsted inspection teams and knowledge of Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
  • Leading end-to-end quality cycle including funding assurance
  • Curriculum best practices, apprenticeship Standards, and blended learning delivery models
  • Apprenticeship funding rules and funding body audits
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers

Qualifications

  • Relevant teaching qualification such as Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), Multi-professional support of learning and assessment in practice or an equivalent. We will consider and value equivalent experience.
