About the Role:

Colmore Education is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Burntwood. This role involves supervising and managing classrooms for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students in the absence of their regular teacher. This position starts in January 2025 and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education to gain valuable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to KS3 and KS4 students across a range of subjects.

  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment by managing classroom behavior effectively.

  • Ensure students remain on task and follow the set curriculum during teacher absences.

  • Support the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.

  • Provide feedback to the teaching staff on student engagement and progress during the lessons.

  • Assist with other duties as required, such as supervising students during breaks and supporting school events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary school students is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage and engage students effectively.

  • A calm and confident demeanor, with the ability to adapt to different classroom settings.

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting students’ learning journeys.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
