Gleeson are exclusively working with a private equity-backed business in Burton-on-Trent that's looking for an experienced Management Accountant to support their finance function during a key period. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded, technically strong accountant who's confident working in a fast-paced environment. This role is initially a 3 month FTC with the potential of it being extended.

You'll be joining a collaborative and driven team, with flexible working hours and hybrid working. This role is perfect for a hard working, experienced Management Accountant who's happy to get stuck in and hit the ground running.

The role:

  • Delivering the monthly consolidated group management accounts, including financial statements and insightful commentary on trading performance, cashflows, risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing key balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analytical review processes - including the development of the monthly balance sheet review pack.
  • Managing the P&L and balance sheets for holding companies, including intercompany reconciliations and accounting for bank/shareholder debt.
  • Performing month-end foreign exchange valuations.
  • Producing and sharing analysis on key trading metrics - including passenger volumes, average selling prices, revenue, cost of sales and gross profit by product and itinerary.
  • Overseeing accounts receivable processes - ensuring accurate invoicing and timely collection of funds from travel agent partners.
  • Supporting the rollout and embedding of cost centre reporting - helping senior leaders understand their numbers and drive performance.
  • Providing mentorship to junior team members and supporting their development.
  • Playing a key role in the preparation and delivery of the annual audit.

Ideal candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Solid experience in a similar role.
  • Ideally experienced in a private equity-backed environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to build relationships across finance and wider teams.
  • Experience using SAGE 200 would be ideal.
