Accounts Payable Assistant - Hybrid - Burton upon Trent - Up to £27,000

We're currently supporting a well-established business in their search for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team at an exciting time of growth and transformation. With a new finance system recently implemented, this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys improving processes.

The Role:

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time, reconciling accounts, and resolving queries efficiently. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative team where you can develop your skills and contribute to key finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and ensure they are ready for payment in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile key accounts monthly and escalate any outstanding queries.
  • Support with aged creditor reviews and resolving debit balances.
  • Assist in preparing payment runs and ensuring due invoices are included.
  • Support annual audit requirements and help drive process automation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve payment issues.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 beneficial).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
