Job title - IT Support Coordinator

Location - Burton-On-Trent

Reports to - IT Manager

Working hours - Monday - Friday 08:00-16:00 (37.5 hours)

Main purpose:

Serve as a liaison to technology for all company associates globally, ensuring that they have the needed training, access, and confidence to maximize their utilization of current and future technology solutions to our business needs, including Oracle’s EnterpriseOne, SAP, Salesforce.com, Google Suite, Office 365 and others.

  • Provide Technical Support: Respond to and resolve IT support requests from employees via various channels such as phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to computer systems, software, and hardware. Identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • User Account Management: Create, modify, and delete user accounts in accordance with established procedures. Assist employees with password resets, account access, and permissions.
  • Software Installation and Configuration: Install, upgrade, and configure software applications on employee workstations. Ensure compatibility, proper licensing, and adherence to security protocols.
  • Hardware Maintenance and Support: Provide maintenance and support for computer hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices. Coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary.
  • Network Support: Assist with network connectivity issues, including troubleshooting network connections, configuring network settings, and resolving network-related problems.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps. Contribute to the knowledge base by creating and updating technical documentation and user guides.
  • IT Asset Management: Assist in managing IT assets, including inventory tracking, asset allocation, and disposal. Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to ensure compliance with asset management policies.
  • Adhere to Security Policies: Follow established security protocols and procedures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Educate employees on best practices for data security.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to escalate and resolve complex technical issues. Communicate effectively with users to provide updates, gather information, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Strong interpersonal skills - excellent oral and written communication skills
  • May require occasional on-call availability or after-hours support.

  • Strong priority management/organization skills
  • Eager to experiment and innovate, while keeping company values in the forefront
  • Able to both conceptualize an idea and execute the tasks to implement it
  • Enthusiastic learner and teacher
  • Degree or equivalent in IT or other related subject
  • The ideal candidate would have 2/3 years + experience in a similar position
