We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This role is focused on supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a crucial role in providing pastoral care and acting as a positive role model for pupils who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds and face challenges in accessing mainstream education.
Working hours: 08.30 to 16.30 , Monday to Friday , Term time only
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the holistic development of pupils.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Promote positive behavior and manage challenging behavior in a supportive manner.
- Encourage and motivate pupils to engage in learning activities and achieve their full potential.
About You:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or a related field is desirable.
