Field-Based Electrical Engineer
Location: Near Bury St Edmunds (UK-Wide Travel)
Salary: up to 42,000 + Door-to-Door Pay + Bonus

We are currently looking for an experienced Field Based Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering company based just outside of Bury St Edmunds. We are looking for an engineer with a background in an industrial setting, this role offers door-to-door pay, a company vehicle and career development opportunities.

This is a field-based position (80/20 split) with travel across the UK and occasional offshore assignments

Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, commissioning, servicing, and calibrating electrical and mechanical control systems.
  • Wiring and troubleshooting electrical panels for industrial machinery.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on-site using strong problem-solving skills.
  • Mentoring and supporting apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Liaising with customers and ensuring all work complies with industry standards
  • Work in a primarily client facing environment, advising estimated time of arrival, any delays that are expected and consult depending on the nature of the job.

Previous successful candidates in the company have come from a range of backgrounds including Food and Beveridge, health care and Industrial.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in panel wiring and working with industrial machinery.
  • Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices is desirable.
  • Full UK driving license.
