A skilled Transport Planner is needed to join the team at this leading logistics company based in Bury Saint Edmunds on a full-time, permanent basis.

They are now seeking a Transport Planner to manage and optimise collection and delivery schedules, ensuring cost-effective transport operations. This role involves close collaboration with drivers, workshop staff, and customers to maintain high service levels and smooth operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost-effective means while maintaining service levels.
- Ensure efficient allocation of vehicles, drivers, and trailers for maximum utilisation.
- Collaborate with the Workshop team to coordinate vehicle and trailer availability, ensuring service schedules align with operational requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate plans with the transport team to maintain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Manage staffing levels, including agency staff, to meet operational needs.
- Liaise with customers to understand and fulfil their transport schedules, ensuring effective communication and service delivery.
- Oversee and manage next-day operational deliveries, providing rates, quotes, and processing bookings.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport operations.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph regulations, and Working Time Regulations.
- Understanding of Road Transport Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience in transport planning and logistics management.
- Familiarity with transport operation systems.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Ability to analyse and solve logistical challenges.
- ERTS knowledge is an advantage.
