Contract Personnel Thetford are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Red lodge who are looking for Warehouse Production Team Leader to join their team on a permanent basis.

The production Team Leader is a hands-on role and split between an operational role, working alongside the production operatives achieving exceptional performance & service levels, whilst also being responsible in supporting the overall planning, operation & performance of the team and processes.

In conjunction with, and reporting directly to the Production Controller, this role involves helping to manage the immediate needs of the production operation requirements in terms of safety, performance, processes, people issues and work-flow.

The Production Team Leader will be responsible to plan work-load and labour to meet the production & rework requirements of both ZP Process & MTO (made to order) over-printing. Work alongside and in conjunction with 5 other Operational Team Leaders and report to the Production Controller on a day-to-day basis in regard to the general operation and requirements.

The role is focused on the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse production processes and machines & has responsibility to co-ordinate action and resource where required, and provide both support and regular updates to the Warehouse Management Team

Key responsibilities will include:

  • ā€¢ People

To be accountable to the Production Controller for providing

information on:

  • Production schedule planning
  • Labour & resource planning
  • Overprinting and Packing Machine Operation
  • Safety & Quality (Process & Improvement)
  • Attendance & Time Keeping
  • Operational cover
  • Helping to identify training needs/requirements
  • ā€¢ Processes
  • Understand current processes (including SAP) for MTO printing and product repack
  • Promote change as and when required.
  • Help make operational decisions / ā€œWork-aroundsā€ when required.
  • To provide support for Operational & Office Teams as required
  • To support best practice (Health & Safety, Quality)
  • Ensure full range of consumables are always available
  • ā€¢ Health & safety
  • Support all Health & Safety rules & regulations.
  • Provide informed information on accidents & near misses through investigation
  • Help manage & implement preventative actions post any accident/near miss investigations.
  • Be proactive in improving H&S and Quality Standards across the site.
  • Understand and support safe operation of all MHE.
  • ā€¢ Supplier Deliveries / Compliance
  • Monitor and feedback on supplier deliveries/compliance.
  • Directly liaise with & manage supplier drivers upon arrival,
  • unloading, and leaving site.
  • ā€¢ Customer Service Levels
  • Support the Warehouse Management Team in achieving ā€œon time in fullā€ delivery to customers.
  • Support the Warehouse Management Team to ensure efficient and accurate service levels
  • Build rapport and relations with other departments
  • Be proactive in supporting customer needs/requirements
  • Be flexible when required meet the needs of the business (potential shift changes/overtime)
  • ā€¢ Maintenance
  • Understand the Set-Up, Operation and Preventative Maintenance of production machinery.
  • Be responsible for the high standards of house keeping. (encouraging all to comply)
  • Help ensure all maintenance requirements are reported and dealt with
  • Support the Warehouse Management Team in ensuring the integrity of all fixtures & fittings including all MHE, work stations, racking etc.
  • ā€¢ Security
  • Be responsible for addressing / communicating all security issues to include staff, visitors, access, including theft and vandalism

INTERFACE

To build both internal and external relationships as appropriate to facilitate efficient, professional operations, including:

  • Warehouse Operational Teams
  • Temporary or contracted labour workers
  • Warehouse Management Team
  • Customer Service Team
  • Supply Chain Team
  • Suppliers
  • Contractors etc.

Your experience/qualities will include:

Warehouse/Production Management Systems (SAP desirable)

PC Literate (Word and Excel at Intermediate Level)

Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills.

2 years previous experience of managing work and people

An awareness of performance management, to include attendance, disciplinary,

Safety & Quality System awareness

Shift Work

Pay Rate

Ā£28000 to Ā£31000 PA dependant on experience

Shifts/Hours

06:00am to 16:00pm Tuesday to Friday
