- Prepare the monthly management accounts, from trial balance to creation of the P&L, balance sheet recs and commentary.
- Posting of journals, accruals & prepayments and payroll reconciliations.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation.
- Quarterly VAT returns.
- Analyse data in large data sets within Excel using various functions and formulas .These cover stock, cost of sales, GP margin analysis and debtors and creditors.
- Assist with the annual budgeting/forecasting process.
- Analyse and comment final accounts, looking at YOY/MOM performance and identify discrepancies or anomalies.
- Liaise with the wider finance team including Accounts Receivable, Payable and the Credit Control team to ensure a smooth and accurate month end process.
- Liaise with the wider teams in the business including sales and operations for any finance related queries.
- Assist with the external audit according to schedule and contribute to the year-end statutory accounts submission.
- Support with ad-hoc projects, driving improvements and efficiencies throughout the finance function.
- Other ad-hoc work as required by the Financial Controller.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Management Accountant role.
- AAT qualified, QBE or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified and looking to progress your studies.
- Intermediate level of competency with Microsoft Excel including Vlookups, Pivot Tables, etc. And using large data sets.
- Strong knowledge on accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Great communicator both written and verbally and able to forge strong relationships.
- Able to work with and manage changing workloads and schedules in line with current priorities.
