Bury Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to join the Housing Assets Team, specifically within the Housing Services Compliance/Building Safety Team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in a similar position within a Local Authority Housing Service or Housing Association, particularly those familiar with QL and other housing databases.
Day-to-day of the role:- Produce daily reports for Housing Management on properties in the No Access process, including issues related to Damp & Mould, Gas, and Electrical.
- Raise Purchase Orders (POs) and Works Orders on required systems for staff within the Building Safety Team.
- Update and maintain databases such as Excel, Access, TCW, and QL.
- Communicate with contractors and tenants to ensure reports are up-to-date with confirmed appointments.
- Send follow-up communications to tenants regarding Damp & Mould issues and complete tasks on QL.
- Follow up on works to ensure completion.
- Retrieve information from computerised housing databases, manipulate data, create non-standard reports, and correct errors.
- Type and produce presentations using computerised presentation packages and format existing presentations across Housing Services.
- Contact contractors for notification of completion of work and update the Housing system with this information.
- Assist with developing and introducing new office and information systems.
- Cross-check various systems to ensure consistency across Housing Services.
- Assist in updating various Compliance Databases, including Gas, Electrical, Asbestos, M&E, Damp & Mould, Lifts, and Legionella.
- Provide accurate research and analysis support, produce high-quality communication such as reports and briefing notes for various audiences.
- Experience in a similar role within a Local Authority Housing Service or Housing Association.
- Proficiency in housing databases such as QL, TCW, Lifespan, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Packages.
- Ability to analyse statistical and financial information.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have previous experience as a Business Support Officer within Housing Assets.
